My husband is pretty good at the weaving. I can't even remember how I learned about it. I doubt I'd give this book to fellows or invite a bunch of guys over on Super Bowl Sunday to make friendship bracelets. What is so nice about this book is that in addition to the nice photographs and illustrations, the book includes embroidery floss, beads, and a little clip on the cover of the book that gives one a place to make the bracelets.
The former happening is tacky, but so often we wish to remember people who don't have time to be remembered. I could do what are considered the easiest bracelets. My husband and my son got involved with this book as well and enjoyed making some of the more complicated patterns and helped me weave the complicated patterns also. I bought one of these friendship books about eight years ago out of curiosity. You just have to know your audience. This is not a typical activity for men or young men.
But these are fun. I bought this book with the idea of giving it to one person, but then sent it as a forget-me-not present to someone else.
From what I understand, many other books with the same theme do not include the supplies to make the bracelets. I'm not good with handicrafts.
This is a nice little book to send to people one rarely sees and of whom we have happy memories, especially if we know that they do any sort of handicraft. My son enjoyed some of the patterns.
My son was already a teenager. This book is not only for middle school and younger girls.
This is where Klutz is a good deal.
My cousin loved this. There was a lot of nice patterns to choose from and a nice set of starter colors.
once you know how to do the knots backwards and forwards and master it. The book is great. all the patterns become easy. It explains everything perfectly. It has excellent diagrams and the instructions are clear. Klutz has great books and I loved it. Now I make them everyday.
I'VE MADE SO MANY BRACELETS THAT I HAD TO PURCHASE MORE STRING. EVERYBODY WANTS A HANDMADE BRACELET.
My 8 year old was able to follow the directions and spends hours making bracelets for family and friends.
